Birthday Bash @ Hoorn

On the 10'th of januari 2009 there was a big meeting in Hoorn Kersenboogerd, to celebrate the birthday's of Chris, Luke, Paul & Phill. About everyone in the Dutch comunity showed up wich resulted in a total of about 60 people jumping around near the station in Hoorn Kersenboogerd.

We gathered at the big spot near the mall at around 12:00. It was instantly fun because of the 60 friends and familliar faces, all with the same passion. After greeting everyone, a few of the birthdayboys started to gather everyone around for a big warmup. An hour full of stretching, conditioning, and group exercises was the result. After that we started to train on that same spot. Checking out possibility's, teaching eachother, following eachother, training with eachother, and having loads of fun with eachother. During that day we relocated every few hours to check out new spots. Halfway through the day Brian's hair was downgraded from 20 cm to about 1 cm. No one know's why, but apparently he promised to get rid of his long hair on the 10'th.

First things first

Yo! Welcome to my blog.
My name is Maikel Over de Linden. Atm im 19 years old and live in Nibbixwoud wich is near Hoorn, in The Netherlands. I have been practising parkour for about 2 years now, and decided I wanted to write down the experiences of my training in a blog. So, here it is.

I am currently active on a few places on this world wide web. I am a member of http://www.parkour.nl/ wich is the place for Dutch traceurs to discuss things, ask or anwser questions, arrange meetings, and stuff like that. On this forum you can recognise me as Hawk.
Every now and then I make a video to note my progress, or just as a little souvenir to remember a fun meeting or something. These video's can be found at my Youtube account.

I am also a member of Tanoshii Parkour. Tanoshii is a foundation that try's to spread parkour in a good and safe way, and helps the community with their training by organising workshops, giving lessons, interviews and much more. Because Tanoshii has just been started up, the website is still under construction. I will post a link as soon as we are up and running.

Because of an increasingly interest in parkour, company's all over the world are hiring traceurs for stuntwork and promotional media. Progression is a stuntagency that is specialized in different kinds of movement. Progression works together with experienced traceurs that do different kinds of freelance stuntwork. I'm in contact with Progression for certain parkour related jobs. My profile can be found here.

So, thats just about it. If you have questions or anything like that, you can alway's use the comment funtion found at the bottom of this post.
Later!
